Judaculla and His Connection to The Cherokee Nation
Prominent Geographic Spots of Tsul'Kalu
Tsul'Kalu has many places marked by the Cherokee people as significant that reinforce his existence and reign. For a beautiful geographic breakdown of all of these places here is a link to a presentation done by Scott Ashcraft and Lorie Hansen.
Shining Rock
This rock is said to be where you can see the tracks of Tsul' Kalu's two children
Looking Glass Rock
Named after rain water freezing on the surface and the fact that it's so large and at such a height only a giant could use the mirror, where Tsul' Kalu saw his reflection.
Gardner Rock
This set of petroglyphs are also thought to be fromTsul'Kalu
Cullowhee
Originally a Cherokee village, this town is now the home for Western Carolina University. Dr. Belt says this is fitting only because due to the history of other clans coming to study Judaculla rock and spread the information, after all these years it is still a place of learning.
